Severe weather can cause significant disruption, and some times your customers need a little extra guidance to prepare.
Fortunately, most of the time you have advanced notice.
Take a few minutes and send a quick instruction sheet to your customers as soon as you know the storm is coming, and send reminders along the way.
Remind them of key preparation steps, and how to get in touch with you if they have problems.
Don’t forget that your services may be affected as well, and make sure that your customers know that response times may be delayed as a result.
When appropriate, let your customers know that your priority will be to get your contracted customers running first, in order of severity.
When the storm is over, reach out to make sure their systems are OK.
You can’t stop the weather, but proactive communication will prevent some problems, and it will help make you that Trusted Advisor to your customer.
